Eyeliner Review & Swatches || Pencils, Liquids, & Gels

Hello my blooming buds!

I've got my eyeliners of all types here to review and swatch for you guys! Eyeliner has to be my favorite make up to wear and the most difficult to put on.

From left to right: NYX Eye/Eyebrow Pencil in 932 Bronze Shimmer, Toki Doki Brillante Glitter Eyeliner in Skeletro, Toki Doki Brillante Glitter Eyeliner in Rondine, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Oil Slick, Sephora Liner Electro in 02 Metal Electro, Hard Candy Take Me Out Liner Molten Metal Eyeliner Pencil in Bullet.

NYX Eye/Eyebrow Pencil in 932 Bronze Shimmer: Chestnut brown with silver glitters. It's a nice glittery neutral color, but I never wore this at all.
Toki Doki Brillante Glitter Eyeliner in Skeletro: Navy with silver glitters. Sadly this is discontinued! I absolutely adore the Brillante liners! It has great staying power and adds dimension to your eyes. Because of the glitters, it is a teeny bit scratchy on application, but the glitters do not irritate your eyes.
Toki Doki Brillante Glitter Eyeliner in Rondine: Aqua with silver glitters. Another color I managed to get in this discontinued line.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Oil Slick: Black with silver glitters. UD pencil liners are always a good addition for eyeliners. Even with the glitters, this one applies without scratching.
Sephora Liner Electro in 02 Metal Electro: Gunmetal silver. I was looking for another liner to replace the one below for the inner corner of your eyes. I really like how smooth this applies with no tugging.
Hard Candy Take Me Out Liner Molten Metal Eyeliner Pencil in Bullet: Silver. This one has no staying power whatsoever, but it's dear to my heart. This was my first eyeliner. I was too scared to wear black or brown eyeliner so I went with silver. These liners are in the shape of chopsticks, which I find amusing.

From left to right: NYC Liquid Eyeliner in 887 Black, Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Black, Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Deep Brown, Loreal H.I.P. Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in 945 Teal, Loreal Infallible Laquer Liner in 171 Blackest Black, Hello Kitty Pen Pal Eyeliner in Goodnight Dreams.

NYC Liquid Eyeliner in 887 Black: Black. I tried applying this a couple time, but could never get it decent. I hate the brush tip on this. It's not pointed, it's blunt. It does appear very black, but if water gets on it, game over.
Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Black: I got this one after loving the brown one. This is a brush tip liquid liner with the tip pointed veeeeery fine. I love this liquid liner and have to say that this is my favorite. I did notice my lashes fuller after using this for several months. This goes on really black and drys faster than most liquid liners I have tried.
Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Deep Brown: This brown looks black from far away, but is more subtle than actual black. I've had this one for several months and it's still going good. These liners are pretty pricy for drugstore products, but you can catch it for 30% a lot of times.
Hello Kitty Pen Pal Eyeliner in Goodnight Dreams: I bought this since it was on sale. I think this is discontinued. I don't really like felt tip liquid liners since they tend to have thick tips. This one was okay in size. I just don't like the tackiness of the formula. I have monolids so the tackiness sometimes transfers. This also takes a couple go throughs to make it really black.
Loreal H.I.P. Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in 945 Teal: This is sadly discontinued. I've had this for a while and it still hasn't dried out yet, granted I don't use this much. I wish I got the black one in this line too when I had the chance. To get a good color strength you need a couple of strokes.
Loreal Infallible Laquer Liner in 171 Blackest Black: I've heard so many great things about this liner so I decided to try it out after my Maybelline one was deemed very old. I did like it the first few weeks and then it dried out on me. My Maybelline one did not dry out this fast. I'll be going back to my Maybelline gel liner once I see it on sale.

From left to right: Warpaint Beauty Eye Pencil in Bad Rep, Mary-Kate and Ashley Line My Eyes Eyeliner in Brown Velvet, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Rockstar, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero, NYX Collection Noir Kohl Kajal Black Liner.

Warpaint Beauty Eye Pencil in Bad Rep: Red with red glitters. I have no idea why I got this since the color is not exactly wearable. It's a good pencil liner in formulation and staying power though.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Line My Eyes Eyeliner in Brown Velvet: This is an automatic liner that can be used for eyebrows as well. I don't use much of this, but it's always good to have a brown pencil liner around.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Rockstar: Deep plum.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero: Black. When I bought this I thought this was the blackest liner they had, but then Perversion came out. When my little stub is unusable, I will be getting it in Perversion.
NYX Collection Noir Kohl Kajal Black Liner: This liner is very black and applies very smoothly with absolutely no tugging. The downside is that if you have oily lids, this will get everywhere around your eyes. I'm not going to use this again, but it will probably work better with people with drier lids.

This is the result after swiping my finger down the swatches with a good amount of pressure. They had about 3 minutes to set before swiping. You can see that the liquid and gel/cream liners held up well. Hard Candy's Silver bullet totally came off during this smudge test and the Sephora liner was almost gone as well.

What's your favorite eyeliner?

Make Up Wishlist #1

Hello my blooming buds!

I have so many beauty products that I want to try out, but don't have the extra money to purchase them. I'll keep a little list of them here and hopefully you guys can give your opinions on them.

1. Maybelline Full N' Soft Waterproof Mascara: I've read a lot of reviews about this mascara and although I love my Falsies Flared mascara, when I actually do wear mascara, I should try to branch out to find better.

2. Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder in Translucent: I just love the packaging of this powder with the little hearts! The translucent color would probably make a good highlighter.

3. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains: I want a few colors from this line. The swatches I saw look so pigmented! I've always wanted to try something that's similar to Clinique Chubby Sticks.

4. NYX Mosaic Powder Blush in Love: This looks like such a lovely coraly peach color that might look really good on cheeks.

5. Ecotools Flat Foundation Brush: I've been using those make up sponge wedges to apply my liquid foundation and I need an affordable, but good quality foundation brush. I've heard good things about Ecotools brushes and I've been dying to try them out.

6. Mac Lipstick in Vegas Volt: I have never used a Mac product before and I think I could only really get into their lipsticks. This shade is supposed to be really close to Revlon's famous and sadly discontinued Strawberry Suede.

7. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful: I've swatched a couple of these blushes in store and they were super glittery. I'm hoping that Blissful isn't really glittery.

8. Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Liner in Black Ink: I love gel liners and I think the Maybelline one is my favorite since it doesn't dry out as much as the Loreal Laquer one. I've been wanting to try this high end one to see the different between it and the Maybelline. I have really oily lids so I hope it's a lot better.

What are the beauty products on your wishlist?

Back to School Nails!

Hello my blooming buds!

I'm going into my fourth and final year of university for my bachelor's degree and I couldn't sleep. I got the wonderful idea of painting my nails with my tired hands. Luckily it turned out pretty decent. I did baby blue toned pink and then made my left ring finger more decorative.

I did a french tip with the silver and then dotted black flowers with a toothpick. When that all dried, I used silver again for the middle of the flowers. I didn't do a top coat since I was just going to wear it for one day.

I only had two classes on my first day, Christology and Juvenile Justice. The next day will have Criminal Law and History of Rock and Roll. As you can tell, I'm running out of classes to take to be a full time student so I filled it with meaningful and fun classes. My Christology class professor is the only one I haven't had before so this semester will have a mostly familiar feel to it. I'm going to try extremely hard not to procrastinate on my papers since I have multiple 10+ page papers this semester. I might work a little less to make more time for research and doing my job well as Vice President for my school's chapter of the Criminal Justice Honor Society and being President for the Criminal Justice club. I can feel that it's going to be a hectic semester already!

How did everyone's first day back to school go?

How To || Making Your Lipstick Matte

Hello my blooming buds!

Did you ever wish you could wear your favorite lipstick with a matte look? I'll show you an easy way you can make almost any satin, creme, glossy lipstick into a matte one.

All you need is your lipstick, I have Revlon's Kiss Me Coral, and a couple blotting papers.

First, apply your lipstick like you normally would.

Take a sheet of blotting paper and lightly tap it on your lips so that it absorbs the oils from the lipstick. Carefully peel it off. Reapply your lipstick and then repeat this step with another sheet of blotting paper.

After the second blotting paper, you should be left with matte lipstick on your lips! The photo here is a bit washed out, but in person it is just as bright as if I applied my lipstick normally. This process makes your lip color last longer and makes it more wearable every day.

I hope this was helpful in your lipstick endeavors!

Sunday for the Soul #3

Hello my blooming buds!

We're still in the Parish Hall for Sunday morning worship! Next week we'll be going back to the Sanctuary and be able to see the new organ screens!

Today's sermon was about breaking the Sabbath. Jesus was at a synagogue on a Sabbath day and saw a woman that had been living with her back bent forward for 18 years. He healed her and a priest exclaimed at the woman that she shouldn't have come to the synagogue on a Sabbath day to be healed since it was a day of rest. Jesus said to the priest, "You hypocrites! Doesn't each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water?" This is a lesson in compassion for others so that we can help those less fortunate or with discomfort be able to rest on the Sabbath day like those more fortunate like ourselves.

Do you, of the Christian faith, keep the Sabbath day holy by making Sunday your day off?

Lip Glosses Review and Swatches || Itching to get more

Hello my blooming buds!

I'm not a big fan of lip glosses, but sometimes I do like to wear it. I just hate when the wind blows my hair into my lips and then blows again so that it touches my glasses, leaving thin lines of lip gloss in my vision. Trying to wipe them off is such a pain too. Any who, here's the four lip glosses I own.

From left to right: Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in 010 Shine City, C. O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Tint in No. 1641 Magenta Mint, Urban Decay Lip Junkie in Naked, Stila Lip Glaze in Joy.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in 010 Shine City SPF 15: This is a clear gloss with shimmers in it. It smells like a combination of candy and coffee to me. It has a nice doe foot applicator that makes it easy to apply. I love how the packaging seems high end. I'm going look for this in the color Kiss Me Coral to match my lipstick!

C. O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Tint in No. 1641 Magenta Mint: This is my all time minty lip gloss! It gives a sheer magenta color while giving you a super tingly mint feeling. This says that it's mint infused to give you fresh breath, but it really doesn't unless you're constantly licking your lips. The applicator is in a slanted lipstick shape, but hard plastic, at the end of the tube. You just squeeze out the amount of product and apply.

Urban Decay Lip Junkie in Naked: This is another minty lip gloss that came with my Naked2 palette. It looks like a really dark browny mauve, but comes out very sheer. This claims to cool and plump your lips. I don't see the plumping, but it does cool them. It has the same applicator as the Mentha Lip Tint above.

Stila Lip Glaze in Joy: I got this as part of a gift bag for Christmas. I found out that this is part of the Christmas set of lip glazes by Stila, and since my name is Joyce, I was given the color Joy! This is a lovely light hot pink that I like to wear during the winter and spring for a girly look. It's a click pen with a brush tip to make application precise.

Got any lip glosses you recommend for a mint lover?

Lip Balm Review & Swatches || I may have a lip balm problem...

Hello my blooming buds!

Continuing on with showing you my collection of beauty products, I bring you my lip balms! I love lip balms for their moisturizing properties, SPF, and sheer colors. The best thing about tinted lip balms is that you don't have to be precise in application to get a great color! I carry four lip balms in my purse at all times for variety on the go! I didn't do lip swatches since there were so many and my lips were so sore after just the lipstick swatches.

From left to right: Maybelline Baby Lips in 10 Peppermint, Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, Jolly Rancher Apple Lip Balm, Softlips in Winter Mint.

Maybelline Baby Lips in 10 Peppermint SPF 20: After buying my first Baby Lips (Peach Kiss), I wasn't all too impressed enough to buy another one, but my friend from university was totally loving the Peppermint Baby Lips. I do love a tingly mint lip balm so I caved in and bought it. That was when my love for Baby Lips blossomed! I love the feeling of minty lip products and this one applies like butter and feels light on the lips.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15: I got this one as a part of the birthday gift from Sephora. I have not felt a lip balm like this before! It feels like a waxier version of a chapstick, in a really good way. It's lemon scented, like most of the line, which I like. It does feel a bit heavy, but it's like I can feel the good that it's doing for my lips, like a face mask for your lips. The full size is super pricey so I wont be actually purchasing this when I finally run out.

Jolly Rancher Apple Lip Balm: This one was bought when I was in that green apple loving phase (I do still love green apple flavored things!). There's no sheen to this at all so it stays looking natural. Of course there's no real benefit to wearing this as it is more for novelty.

Softlips in Winter Mint SPF 20: I bought this as part of the limited edition winter collection. I love mint so I caved in an bought this and the vanilla one (I have no idea where it went). It's very soft so you don't have to push down too hard when you apply it. That little nub sticking out of the tube is all that's left. There's really not a lot of product in there. This is a sweet mint flavor that I love. I'm not too sure if this comes out every Christmas season since I bought this ages ago.

From left to right: Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom, The Body Shop Delipscious Tinted Lip Balm in Watermelon Crush, Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Treatment, Clinique Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry.

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom: This is my one and only Burt's Bees product I have and I love it. I do want to get more colors in this line, but they are pretty pricey for drugstore lip balms. This is a lovely sheer pink that almost leans mauve. It's a standard lip balm texture, which I have no problem with.

The Body Shop Delipscious Tinted Lip Balm in Watermelon Crush: I saw that the Body Shop was having a clearance sale so I decided to pop in and have my first look at the place. I went immediately for the tinted lip balms they had. These are discontinued, but they have another Delipscious line of sheer lip colors still on their website that are on clearance. I got this one because of the cute baby pink color. This was when I learned that baby pink colors like this are a big no no for lip balms. This accentuates every wrinkle in my lips and the milkiness of the formula make it SUPER smushy. When you twist it up, it wont twist back down. I really hate it the darn thing. It does smell fantastic, like watermelon candy.

Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Treatment SPF 15: This is just like the clear version in smell and texture that I mentioned above except with a nice sheer pink tint. It's a "barely there" color that's easy to wear for tinted lip balm beginners.

Clinique Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry: I love colors with the word strawberry in them! This has a great color pay off and like all Clinique products, it's unscented. This is one of the four that I carry in my purse at all times. I love the twisty pencil packaging on this. I haven't tried any other lip balms in this sort of packaging before, but I might have to try them after this success with the Chubby Stick.

From left to right: Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet, Maybelline Baby Lips Electro in 85 Oh! Orange!, Maybelline Baby Lips in 30 Peach Kiss, NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm in Big Apple Red, NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm in Applelicious Pink

Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet: After hearing all the rave about the Lip Butters when they first came out, I went and bought my first one! I didn't own any red color lip product so I gathered some bravery and bought Red Velvet. I love how opaque this is! Like the Burt's Bees tinted lip balm, I have not bought another one because I feel that it's pricey for a drugstore lip balm. I will go out and get another once the hit of buying textbooks has died down. The texture is like thick butter and it smells like a cake with caramel.

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro in 85 Oh! Orange!: I really hope that the Electro line of Baby Lips is permanent! Since I'm still on my orangey coral kick, I chose to try out Oh! Orange! first to see if the formula was changed at all. It's pretty much the same and the color really shows! It's still sheer so on your lips it doesn't look like you painted your lips orange. It smells like artificial oranges too. I really want to get more of these! These are so affordable and great for your lips!

Maybelline Baby Lips in 30 Peach Kiss: This will probably be the only disappointing Baby Lips I will have bought in my lifetime. I was looking for a nude lip balm so I got this one. It smells great, but there are shimmers in here and it has that milkiness that brings out your lip wrinkles.

NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm in Big Apple Red: Another affordable lip balm here with great color pay off! This was the first one I bought after walking through the make up section at Walmart. The cute apple shape that goes through the middle of the stick of lip balm is so adorable! These even smell like apples too! Big Apple Red is a sheer jelly looking red. I would say that these feel like the Maybelline Baby Lips.

NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm in Applelicious Pink: A couple days after buying Big Apple Red, I bought Applelicious Pink. This is a hot pink, almost fuchsia color. It has the same texture and smell as the Big Apple Red.

Well that was a handful! I hope you enjoyed this mega review. Up next are the few lip glosses I have!
